Boiler servicing

A yearly service keeps your boiler safe and running efficiently, and most manufacturers need one every 12 months to keep the warranty valid.

What a service covers

Every boiler is different, but a full service generally includes:

  • Checking the boiler is burning gas safely, with a flue gas analyser
  • Checking the flue, seals, burner and heat exchanger
  • Cleaning the condensate trap and checking the pipe runs clear
  • Checking pressure, the expansion vessel and the safety devices
  • Checking the controls and how the heating and hot water are working

You get a record of the service, and if anything needs attention we'll explain it and give you a price before doing any more work.

Why bother?

Small problems found at a service are cheaper to put right than a breakdown in January. A boiler that's burning cleanly also uses less gas. And if your boiler is still in warranty, a missed service can mean the manufacturer won't cover a repair.

Where we work

We work from two bases: Abbey Wood, for south-east London and the edge of north-west Kent, and Sheerness, for the Isle of Sheppey and Sittingbourne. Whichever of us is nearer takes your job.

Questions

How often should a boiler be serviced?

Once a year. Booking it for late summer or early autumn means it's checked before the heating goes on.

Do you service all makes?

We service the common gas boiler makes. Tell us the make and model when you get in touch and we'll confirm.

I'm a landlord. Is a service the same as a gas safety certificate?

No, they're different checks, although we can do both on the same visit. See our page on landlord gas safety certificates.
